2.4.1

Removing

– Insert a screwdriver in slot between transmitter unit -1- and key

-2-.

– Twist screwdriver in -direction of arrow- to separate transmitter

unit from key.

– Press upper part of transmitter unit and lower part of transmit‐

ter unit apart in direction of -arrow-.

– Unclip battery -1- from retainers -2- with a screwdriver in di‐

rection of -arrow-.

2.4.2

Installing

Note polarity and correct position when installing battery.
– Place battery -1- in transmitter unit -2- with positive terminal

downwards (positive terminal is marked on housing).

– Engage battery in lower part of transmitter unit by pressing

down lightly.

– Fit upper part of transmitter unit and lower part of transmitter

unit together (do not damage seal).

– Then clip transmitter unit to key.

Assembly overview - door assembly

A new door concept has been introduced with Jetta 2005 ▸, Bora

2005 ▸.
The door consists of an inner part -6- and an outer panel -1-.
The parts are joined by the front -7- and rear -4- retaining rail.

1. Rear door (saloon)

known assembly carrier. Loudspeaker, window regulator, window

regulator motor, wiring, window channel, exterior mirror and door

lock are mounted on the inner part of the door.
The outer panel -1- of the door is additionally bolted to the lower

edge of the inner part. The window slot outer seal, insulation and

exterior door handle are mounted on the outer panel of the door.

Caution

Bolts of different types are used to secure outer panel of door.

If these are fitted in the wrong positions, the outer panel for the

door will be damaged.
