NOTE:

5. Fresh air blower series resistance with fuse -N24-  

Fresh Air Blower Removing 

z

Remove glove box. 

See GLOVE BOX, REMOVING AND INSTALLING . 

z

Remove screws -4- and remove cover -3-. See Fig. 2 .  

z

Remove cover containing series resistor -5- and disconnect electrical connector.  

z

Disconnect electrical connector from fresh air blower -2-. See Fig. 2 .  

z

Remove fresh air blower series resistor -5-. See Fig. 2 .  

z

Pull fresh air blower out downwards.  

Instrument Panel Cross Member

Remove securing bolts -arrows-. 

z

Tightening torque 25 N.m (18 ft lb) 

To access or remove heating and ventilation unit, lift cross member in direction of -arrow A- and 
support. 

NOTE:

The following list refers to items in Fig. 3 .

NOTE:

z

To prevent damage to the steering column, work should be done with 
aid of another technician.  

z

If removed component(s) are not to be reinstalled immediately,

1. Bolt

3. Rear duct  

4. Retainer  

5. Cover  

6. Bolt  

First do the following: 

z

Remove glove box. 

See GLOVE BOX, REMOVING AND INSTALLING . 

z

Remove steering column trim. 

See TRIM UNDER STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING . 

z

Remove center air outlet. See Air outlets, removing .  

z

Remove center console. 

secure the cross member to the bulkhead.  

z

Any wiring harnesses released from their retainers must be secured 
again at the same point, using the same method of securing.

Removing Connecting duct 

z

Remove retainer -4-.  

z

Remove cover -5-.  

z

Pull connecting piece out towards the driver's side footwell -arrow A-.

DUST AND POLLEN FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 

The filter is located in the right rear of the instrument panel under a cover.
