REPLACING SEAT BELT FOR MIDDLE REAR SEAT

  

Removing, installing

Fold rear seat backrest forward

 See Owner's Manual

Unscrew screw (1) for seat belt end fitting on 
rear seat

 Inner Torx screw for seat belt is fastened 

to rear bench seat frame.

Pull lap belt end fitting (2) down and out on 
rear seat

Pull clip channel for rear seat cover (3) off of 
right side of seat frame

Remove screw (4) on belt buckle

 Torx bit set

Pull belt buckle (5) down and out

 

Check seat belt and belt buckle for 

damage.

7

Install in the reverse order

 

Installation: Ensure they are installed 

free of stress. Do not install seat belt twisted.

Never dismantle automatic belt retractor.

Remove paneling on C-pillar

Remove bolt (1) on seat belt guide bracket (2)

 

If necessary remove belt height adjuster 

(5) .

Remove automatic belt retractor (4)

 

During installation: Note catch of 

automatic belt retractor.

Check seat belts for damage

 The Bowden cables for vertical and horizontal adjustment at the 

40 % rear seat now can be individually replaced. The new routing 
assignment must be observed when replacing the Bowden cables. 
The connection at the release handle and at the rear seat support 
remain the same.
