8. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install retainer (A) to clutch master cylinder operating rod (B). See 

Fig. 24 . Pull piston rod out of clutch master cylinder slightly and hold using a pair of pliers. Press clutch 
pedal in direction of arrow to engage. Ensure retainer is installed in correct location.

9. Install stop (A) for clutch pedal. Arm (arrow) points toward clutch master cylinder (B). See Fig. 25 .

CLUTCH PEDAL 

Removal & Installation 

1. Obtain anti-theft coding. With ignition switch turned to OFF position, disconnect battery negative cable. 

See BATTERY DISCONNECT PRECAUTIONS .  

2. Remove cover in driver's footwell. Remove overcenter spring. See OVERCENTER SPRING

3. Remove clutch pedal from clutch master cylinder, and press operating rod until it reaches engine 

compartment. Remove nut (A). See Fig. 26 . Pull bolt out until clutch pedal can be removed.

4. Pull clutch pedal lightly toward passenger compartment. Press both sides of mounting inward using Pliers 

(T10005). See Fig. 19 . Separate master cylinder operating rod from clutch pedal. Push operating rod 
toward engine compartment until stopped.  

5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install overcenter spring. Install retainer (A) to clutch master 

cylinder operating rod (B). See Fig. 25 . Press clutch pedal in direction of arrow to engage. Ensure 
retainer is installed in correct location. Place clutch pedal switch in mounting hole, and turn 45 degrees to 
right.
