DIAGNOSTIC TESTS 

CODE : SUPPLY VOLTAGE SIGNAL TOO HIGH/LOW 

Possible Cause 

Battery discharged or malfunctioning. Faulty wiring or connections to air bag control module.  

Corrective Action 

Charge or replace battery. Replace faulty wiring or connections to air bag control module.  

CODE : DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG RESISTANCE HIGH/LOW, SHORT TO VOLTAGE OR GROUND 

Possible Cause 

Faulty wiring or connections. Spiral spring or driver-side air bag defective.  

Corrective Action 

Replace faulty wiring or connections. Check spiral spring. Replace driver-side air bag.

Possible Cause 

Faulty wiring or connections. Passenger-side air bag defective.  

Corrective Action 

Replace faulty wiring or connections. Replace passenger-side air bag.  

CODE : LEFT SEAT BELT SWITCH UNDEFINED SWITCH CONDITION, SHORT TO GROUND, 
OPEN/SHORT TO VOLTAGE 

Possible Cause 

Faulty wiring or connections. Left seat belt switch defective.  

Corrective Action 

Replace faulty wiring or connections. Replace left seat belt switch.  

CODE : RIGHT SEAT BELT SWITCH UNDEFINED SWITCH CONDITION, SHORT TO GROUND, 
OPEN/SHORT TO VOLTAGE 

Possible Cause 

Faulty wiring or connections. Right seat belt switch defective.  

Corrective Action 

Replace faulty wiring or connections. Replace right seat belt switch.

Replace air bags, air bag control module and other components as necessary. Repair faulty wiring or 
connections.

VOLTAGE OR GROUND 

Possible Cause 

Faulty wiring or connections. Air bag defective.  

Corrective Action 

Replace faulty wiring or connections. Replace seat belt pretensioner.

Air bag control module incorrect for vehicle installed in.

CODE : IMPACT DATA STORED SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER 

Possible Cause 

Frontal collision or short circuit between seat belt pretensioner and control module. Faulty wiring or 
connections.  

Corrective Action 

Replace seat belt pretensioners and other components as necessary. Replace faulty wiring or connections.
