 Transmission:

– Install the transmission selector lever cable and adjust it if

necessary. Refer to ⇒  6-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission

02E; Rep. Gr.  34 .

Continuation for All Vehicles:
The Additional Numbered Procedures Must Be Followed to En‐

sure the Particulate Filter with the NOx Reduction Catalytic Con‐

verter Is Installed without Tension:

Note

Make sure the particulate filter is not installed under tension

after assembly.

Always replace the self-locking nuts, seals, gaskets and

clamps.

Caution

The  decoupling  elements  between  the  particulate  filter  and

NOx reduction catalytic converter can be damaged. When re‐

moving and installing:

♦ Do not bend the decoupling element more than 10°.
♦ Do not stretch the decoupling element.
♦ Do not damage the wire mesh on the decoupling element.
♦ Use the Transportation Lock - T10404- to secure the de‐

coupling element from overbending.

– Install the particulate filter with NOx reduction catalytic con‐

verter and the EGR filter. Refer to

⇒ “1.4 Particulate Filter with NOx Absorption Catalytic Con‐

verter, Removing and Installing”, page 369

 .

– Attach the drive axles to the transmission. Refer to ⇒  Sus‐

pension, Wheels, Steering; Rep. Gr.  40 ; Drive Axles, Re‐

moving and Installing .

Lock Carrier; Lock Carrier with Attachments, Removing and

Installing

– Secure the refrigerant lines on the A/C compressor and con‐

denser without tension. Refer to ⇒  Heating, Ventilation and

Air Conditioning; Rep. Gr.  87 .

– Fill the A/C system. Refer to ⇒  Heating, Ventilation and Air

Conditioning; Rep. Gr.  87 .

– Install the Battery - A- and the battery tray. Refer to ⇒  Electrical

System; Rep. Gr.  27 ; Battery; Battery Tray, Removing and

Installing .

– Observe the notes after connecting the Battery - A- . Refer to

⇒  Electrical Equipment; Rep. Gr.  27 ; Battery; Battery, Dis‐

connecting and Connecting .

– Fill with coolant. Refer to

⇒ “1.9 Coolant, Draining and Filling”, page 209

 .

– Fill the fuel system. Refer to

⇒ “3.9 Fuel System, Filling/Bleeding”, page 328

 .

– Check the DTC memories of all control modules and erase all

DTC entries which may have occurred during the assembly.

Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester “Vehicle Self-Diagnosis”.

– Check the headlamp adjustment and adjust if necessary. Re‐

fer to ⇒ Maintenance ; Booklet  20.1 ; Procedure Descriptions .
