Transfer Driven Gear

NOTE:
Do not apply pressure in excess of 10 kN (1 ton, 1.1
US ton, 1.0 Imp ton).

E: INSPECTION

1) Bearing
Replace the bearings in the following cases.
• When there are breakage and rust on the bear-
ings.
• When there are wear or damage.
• When bearing that fails to turn smoothly or
makes noise after gear oil lubrication.
2) Driven gear
Replace the driven gear in the following case.
• When driven gear tooth surface and shaft are ex-
cessively broken or damaged.

Center Differential

16.Center Differential

A: REMOVAL

1) Remove the manual transmission assembly
from vehicle. <Ref. to 6MT-34, REMOVAL, Manual
Transmission Assembly.>
2) Prepare the transmission for overhaul. <Ref. to
6MT-40, Preparation for Overhaul.>
3) Remove the extension case. <Ref. to 6MT-47,
REMOVAL, Extension Case.>
4) Remove the transfer driven gear. <Ref. to 6MT-
58, REMOVAL, Transfer Driven Gear.>
5) Remove the thrust washer and center differen-
tial.

6) Remove the needle bearing.

B: INSTALLATION

1) Install the needle bearing.

2) Install the thrust washer and center differential.

3) If replacing the center differential, select the
transfer drive gear and thrust washer and install.

4) Install the transfer driven gear. <Ref. to 6MT-58,
INSTALLATION, Transfer Driven Gear.>
5) Install the extension case. <Ref. to 6MT-47, IN-
STALLATION, Extension Case.>
6) Install the manual transmission assembly into
vehicle. <Ref. to 6MT-36, INSTALLATION, Manual
Transmission Assembly.>

C: INSPECTION

Check there is no damage on the center differen-
tial. Replace if damaged.

Oil Pump

17.Oil Pump

A: REMOVAL

7) Remove the snap ring and flat washer.

8) Using the ST, remove the neutral set spring and
support.

9) Raise the striking rod up, then remove the spring
pin.

10) Remove the selector arm No. 2 and shifter arm.

Oil Pump

11) Using the ST, remove the oil pump shaft as-
sembly and the plate.

NOTE:
Remove the bolts using ST because damage may
occur if general tool is used.

12) Using the ST, remove the oil pump cover as-
sembly.

NOTE:
Remove the bolts using ST because damage may
occur if general tool is used.

13) Remove the thrust washer on main shaft part.
14) Remove the oil pump rotor.

B: INSTALLATION

1) Apply oil to the outer periphery of outer rotor,
then install to transmission case.

2) Install the thrust washer to main shaft part.
3) Using the ST, install the oil pump cover assem-
bly.

Tightening torque:

25 N

m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

4) Using the ST, install the oil pump shaft assembly
and the plate.

Tightening torque:

25 N
