Snowmobile Arctic Cat (2007 year). Instruction - part 74

7-70

7. Check headlight aim (see Adjusting Headlight

Aim in this section).

Adjusting

Headlight Aim

(Bearcat Wide Track/Jaguar Z1/

Panther 660/T660)

The headlight can be adjusted for vertical aim of the

HIGH/LOW beam. The geometric center of HIGH

beam zone is to be used for vertical aiming.

1. Position the snowmobile on a level floor so the

headlight is approximately 8 m (25 ft) from an

aiming surface (wall or similar surface).

„ NOTE: There should be an “average” operating
load on the snowmobile when adjusting headlight
aim.

2. Measure the distance from the floor to midpoint

of the headlight.

3. Using the measurement obtained in step 2, make

a horizontal mark on the aiming surface.

4. Make a vertical mark which intersects the hori-

zontal mark on the aiming surface directly in

front of the headlight.

5. Start the engine. Select the headlight dimmer

switch HIGH beam position. DO NOT USE

LOW BEAM.

6. Observe the headlight beam aim. Proper aim is

when the most intense beam is centered on the

vertical mark 5 cm (2 in.) below the horizontal

mark on the aiming surface.

7. On the 3-bulb models, adjust the headlight hous-

ing mounting screws until correct aim is

obtained. Shut the engine off.

8. On 4-bulb models, adjust the headlight using the

adjustment knobs until correct aim is obtained.

Shut the engine off.

! WARNING

Do not operate the snowmobile unless headlight
beam is adjusted properly. An incorrectly adjusted
beam will not provide the operator the optimum
amount of light.

Drive Train and

Brake Systems

This section has been organized into sub-sections

for servicing drive train and brake systems; how-

ever, some components may vary from model to

model. The technician should use discretion and

sound judgment when removing and installing com-

ponents.

„ NOTE: Throughout this section, a sub-section
relating specifically to the 120 cc model and 1100
cc Z1 will be so designated. The remaining sub-
sections will be either specifically for the 660 cc
models or a combination of 660 cc/1100 cc Z1
models (also so designated).

„ NOTE: Critical torque specifications are located
on page 4 of this section.

„ NOTE: Some illustrations and photographs used
in this section are used for clarity purposes only
and are not designed to depict actual conditions.

! CAUTION

In this section, it will be necessary to tip the snow-
mobile on its side for accessing some components;
however, the 660 cc snowmobile should not be
tipped on its side in excess of a 70° angle. If tipped
on its side in excess of a 70° angle (or upside down
at all), return the snowmobile to the upright position
and immediately see Tipped Snowmobile (660 cc
Models) sub-section in Section 1 of this manual for
proper procedure to follow.
