Dowel sleeves. See Fig. 132 , item 8 above oil pump.

Installed position of oil pump shaft/chain sprocket: Can only be installed in one position.  

Installing sump and baffle plate. See OIL SUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 

Tightening torques. See Part I (Engine codes AEG, AVH, AZG) 

Oil pump with balancer shaft gear assembly, disassembling and assembling (Engine codes BDC, BGD) 

1. Chain guard  

2. Chain

Mark direction of rotation before removing (installation position)  

3. Dowel sleeves  

4. Oil pump with balancer shaft gear assembly 

z

Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves for centralizing are installed  

5. 3 N.m 

z

Insert with locking compound D 000 600 A2  

6. Cover 

z

Prevents engine oil foaming  

7. Oil return union 

z

With seal/gasket  

8. 9 N.m  

9. Suction line 

z

Clean strainer if soiled  

10. 8 N.m  

11. O-ring 

z

Replace  

12. 15 N.m + 1/4 turn (90°) further 

z

Observe different lengths of bolts. See Fig. 137  

13. O-ring

Replace  

14. Sealing plug, 15 N.m + 1/4 turn (90°) further  

15. Dowel sleeves  

16. Outer rotor

Check running surfaces for scoring

Marking(s) must be visible

Pre-tensioning chain tensioner

Press chain rail in direction of arrow and lock with a 3 mm Allen key -1-.

Pull chain guard off. Release locking lugs by inserting a small screwdriver through openings (arrows) if 
necessary.
