MAINTENANCE

Lubrication

Rear Suspension

Lubricate the suspension pivot shafts with POLARIS All Season Grease
at the intervals outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Table beginning on
page 85 and before seasonal storage. When operating in heavy, wet
snow conditions, lubricate every 500 miles (800 km).

Lack of lubrication will adversely affect your ride and the life of the
suspension. For more information about suspension lubrication and
adjustments, see your POLARIS dealer.

MAINTENANCE

Lubrication

Drive Shaft Bearing

Inject grease into the fitting on the
speedometer sensor housing until
grease purges from the seal on the
inside of the tunnel. This should take
approximately two pumps. Do not
use more than four pumps.

Throttle Cable

Lubricate the throttle cable lightly
with grease or oil. With the
engine off, turn the handlebars to
the left and lubricate liberally as
shown.

Front Suspension

The front suspension and steering components do not require
lubrication.

MAINTENANCE

Chaincase Oil

Check the chaincase oil level at the
intervals outlined in the Periodic
Maintenance Table beginning on page
85.

The sight glass (1) is located on the
lower rear of the chaincase. Maintain the
oil level at or slightly below the center
of the sight glass (2). Change the
chaincase oil after the first 500 miles
(800 km), then every 2000 miles (3200
km) or seasonally.

POLARIS recommends the use of
POLARIS Synthetic Chaincase Lube.
See page 122 for the part numbers of
POLARIS products.

Oil Check

1. Position the vehicle on a level

surface.

2. View the oil level at the sight glass.

3. Remove the fill plug (3) and add the

recommended oil as needed. Do not
overfill.

4. Reinstall the fill plug, making sure it is seated properly.
