FRONT DOOR WINDOW, REMOVING

Remove front door trim. 

See DOOR TRIM .

Pry out cover caps -1-.

Lower door window until clamp securing bolts/screws are accessible. 

z

Loosen bolts/screws -2- and press clamps apart.  

z

Lower window regulator further.  

z

Lift rear of door window and swing out of door forward in direction of -arrow-.

DOOR WINDOW, ADJUSTING

The door window clamps must be positioned in the assembly openings.  

z

Push door window -1-- into window guide -arrow- and tighten clamps with bolts/screws -2-(10 N.m). 

z

Then perform functional check. 

NOTE:

If the work sequence cannot be carried out because there is a malfunction 
with the electric window motor, remove motor to slide window down.

WINDOW REGULATOR, TROUBLESHOOTING 

Prior to changing a window regulator, due to a binding condition, please follow these steps. 

If door window binds in up (raised) position, activate pinch protection using following: 

z

Bring window glass all way up and press window up switch 2X (two times).  

z

Bring window glass all way down and press window down switch 2x (two times).  

z

Cycle window glass up and down. You must hear a "clunk" noise, which means that glass is now fully 
seated on window regulator.  

z

Cycle window up and down several times to verify effectiveness of the repair.  

ASSEMBLY CARRIER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING 

Window regulators, door lock and loudspeaker are secured to assembly carrier. 

Door lock can only be removed in conjunction with assembly carrier. 

Assembly carrier can only be removed when door window clamps of window regulator are unscrewed. To do 

NOTE:

z

Glass must be tight on the clamp carrier of the window regulator.  

z

The window channel opening must be uniform and consistent all the way 
around the opening and at the weld joint at the lower A-pillar area.  

z

If the glass is not going all the way down and/or a "clunk" noise occurs, 
check the motor programming using the VAS 5051 and check the system 
for any malfunctions or Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).  

z

These steps must be performed when replacing the old motor with a new 
one or when the battery is discharged.
