If malfunctioning, first ensure that the magnet (arrow) is securely attached to the cover strip sliding cover -2-.

See Fig. 13 . Replace the cover strip if necessary. The selector mechanism cover with integrated printed circuit 
must only be replaced once the wiring has been checked. 

On models with a multi-function steering wheel, the buttons on the steering wheel must also be checked along 
with the wiring connections. 

DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC) 

Location: (arrow) under shelf on the driver's side. See Fig. 14 .

Removing & Installing 

For selector lever display removal and installation, see appropriate GAUGES & INSTRUMENT PANEL article 
in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. 

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) -J217- 

Location: (arrow) under inner plenum chamber cover. See Fig. 15 .

Removal & Installation 

Switch ignition off. 

Remove radio. See RADIO .
