Removing trim for steering column switch

Remove bolts/screws -1-.  

z

Remove height and reach adjustment handle -5-.  

z

Remove bolts -2-, -3- and -4-.

Remove steering column switch lower trim

Remove steering column switch upper trim -1-

Installing steering column 

Vehicles with the steering column from the company Nacam up to 01.00 

New steering columns, which are delivered as spare parts, are secured with a transportation securing device -6-. 

This transportation device 6 must be removed after installing steering column in vehicle . 

The shear head bolt -10- and the roller -11- must be installed on new steering columns, which have been 
supplied as a spare part . 

NOTE:

The following list refers to items in Fig. 12 .

Tighten shear head bolt -10- until head shears off.  

z

Install steering column with preassembled steering lock housing to cross member.  

z

Install hex bolts -5-.  

z

Now insert hex bolt -12-.  

z

Install nut -13- and tighten to 10 N.m (7.4 in lb).  

z

Now tighten bolts -5- to 25 N.m (18 ft lb).  

z

Now pull out transportation securing device -6-.  

z

Install universal joint shaft onto steering pinion -9-.  

z

Tighten bolt 8 to 30 N.m (22 ft lb).
