JETTA FLUID CAPACITIES

(4)

Differential is serviced through A/T drain plug and fill tube. Differential and A/T
share a common fluid sump area.

(5)

Only use coolant G 12, meeting specification TL VW 774 D. Identifiable by Red
color.

(6)

When changing engine oil, add approximately .5 Qt. (.4L) less than specification
listed. Start engine and warm coolant to 140°F (60°C). Shut engine off. Wait 3
minutes and recheck fluid level. Add engine oil as necessary. DO NOT overfill, as
overfilling may cause catalytic converter damage and misfire diagnostic trouble code
to be set.

(7)

Use an API SJ energy conserving engine oil.

(8)

Service interval is not available from manufacturer. Check for leaks and check fluid
level at 40,000 mile intervals. Add fluid as necessary.
