Description

The pressure control solenoid valve B (secondary pressure solenoid valve) regulates the secondary pressure
to suit the driving condition in response to a signal sent from the TCM.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:

Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
NOTE:
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously performed, always turn ignition switch
OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.
After the repair, perform the following procedure to confirm the malfunction is eliminated.

1.

CHECK DTC DETECTION

With CONSULT-III

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Select “DATA MONITOR”.

3.

Make sure that output voltage of CVT fluid temperature sensor is within the range below.

4.

Start engine and maintain the following conditions for at least 10 consecutive seconds.

Is “P0868 SEC/PRESS DOWN” detected?

YES

>> Go to 

TM-263, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK LINE PRESSURE

Perform line pressure test. Refer to 

TM-318, "Inspection and Judgment"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace damaged parts. Refer to 

TM-318, "Inspection and Judgment"

Check pressure control solenoid valve B (secondary pressure solenoid valve). Refer to 

TM-251, "Component

Inspection"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace damaged parts.

3.

CHECK PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE A (LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE)

Check pressure control solenoid valve A (line pressure solenoid valve). Refer to 

TM-245, "Component Inspec-

tion"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair or replace damaged parts.

4.

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR A (SECONDARY PRESSURE SENSOR) SYS-

TEM

Check transmission fluid pressure sensor A (secondary pressure sensor) system. Refer to 

TM-255, "DTC

Logic"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> Repair or replace damaged parts.

5.

CHECK TCM

Check input/output signal. Refer to 

TM-285, "Reference Value"

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> Replace TCM. Refer to 

TM-325, "Exploded View"

P1701 TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (POWER SUPPLY)

When the power supply to the TCM is cut OFF, for example because the battery is removed, and the self-diag-
nosis memory function stops, malfunction is detected.
NOTE:
Since “P1701 TCM-POWER SUPPLY” will be indicated when replacing TCM, perform diagnosis after
erasing “SELF-DIAG RESULTS”

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

NOTE:
If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch
OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.
After the repair, perform the following procedure to confirm the malfunction is eliminated.

1.

CHECK DTC DETECTION

With CONSULT-III

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Wait for at least 2 consecutive seconds.

3.

Perform “SELF-DIAG RESULTS”. Refer to 

TM-216, "CONSULT-III Function (TRANSMISSION)"

.

Is “P1701 TCM-POWER SUPPLY” detected?

YES

>> Go to 

TM-265, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK TCM POWER SOURCE

Check voltage between TCM connector terminals and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM

Check the following.
• Harness for short or open between battery and TCM connector terminal 45, 47
• Harness for short or open between ignition switch and TCM connector terminal 46, 48
• 10 A fuse (No. 55, located in the IPDM E/R) 
• 15 A fuse (No. 13, located in the J/B) 
• Ignition switch. Refer to 

TM-332, "Exploded View"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace damaged parts. 

3.

CHECK TCM GROUND CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect TCM connector.

3.

Check continuity between TCM connector terminals and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

4.

CHECK TCM

Check TCM input/output signals. Refer to 

TM-285, "Reference Value"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> Replace the TCM. Refer to 

TM-325, "Exploded View"
