Vehicle recovery
R
TRANSPORTING THE VEHICLE
Jaguar strongly recommend that the
vehicle is recovered by use of a slide-bed
recovery transporter only.
Transporting
When the vehicle is transported the park
brake must be applied, the wheels
chocked and the gear selector lever
moved to position N or D but never to P.
While the vehicle is being loaded, the
Jaguar Smart Key should be placed in the
starter control unit. This will prevent the
steering lock activating.
The vehicle must be securely tied down
to the transporter or trailer. Use straps on
the front wheels and tyres to secure the
vehicle for transportation.
The towing eye is not designed for
securing the vehicle during
transportation.

CAUTIONS
Ensure that the recovery team do
not tow with sling-type,
spectacle-type or towing dolly
equipment as damage to the front or rear
underside bodywork may result.
If the vehicle has defective
transmission, to prevent further
damage, it must be towed with the
rear wheels clear of the ground.
WARNING
Without the engine running, the
brake servo and power steering
pump cannot provide assistance:
greater effort will therefore be required to
operate the brake pedal and turn the
steering wheel. Longer stopping
distances will also be experienced.
